The USA Wants AI Companies To Give Up Equity To A Public Wealth Fund
Two competing proposals would give the US public direct equity stakes in the country's largest AI companies - one mandatory at 50%, one voluntary at 5%. Neither has passed, and neither looks likely to this year. But 69% of Americans back the idea, and that number is doing more work than the legislation.
