I met the VP of a firm deploying $2.5B into Europe.

Half of it is earmarked for development finance.

This is a North American institution expanding its direct lending strategy into the UK, Ireland, and Continental Europe for the first time.

- UK, Ireland and Continental Europe
- Construction, transitional and stabilised loans
- Residential is their highest conviction area
- Industrial, logistics, self-storage and data centres
- The goal is to deploy $2.5B over the next 3-5 years

I asked why Europe, why now.

Most North American institutions I speak to are cautious about cross-border deployment.

But that’s changing.

Are you seeing more lenders deploy internationally?
