I spoke to a woman financing private jets across Asia.
Her last employer did one deal in five years...
She cracked the market by going where the banks won't and building relationships nobody else had access to.
In Asia, every major company is either government-owned or family-owned. You don't cold call these people. You get introduced. Or you don't get in at all.
Here's what she lends on:
- Private jets across APAC, Middle East and Europe
- Commercial vessels incl. tankers and LNG ships
- New builds, and existing assets are on the table
- Minimum $10M ticket, no maximum ticket
- Global mandate but clients mainly come from Asia
- 7–15% returns for capital providers
She told me that the jet is rarely the risk.
It's actually the person sitting in it.
She underwrites the borrower first - net worth, business history, industry, guarantees. The asset is just the collateral.
Her latest deal is with a client whose net worth is mostly held in stablecoins.
First of its kind in the industry.
Most private banks won't touch jet financing in Asia without a personal guarantee and substantial AUM deposited with them first.
She structures around all of it.
Do you know anyone who owns a private jet?
